Somehow, as a millennial, the 1950’s are nostalgic for me. As a kid I loved to wander the aisles of dusty, sprawling antique malls with my mom, digging for treasure. We ferried home vintage Fiesta pitchers and mint green Jadeite bowls and any piece of Pyrex bakeware we could get our hands on. When considering how to celebrate the holiday this year, I kept returning to my fascination with retro holiday decor: shiny silver tinsel made of lead (oh god!), bottlebrush trees, and of course, the ubiquitous holiday spread.

I love juicing.  I know you lose the fiber when you juice (I KNOW, OK!), and I know it can be a little time consuming and expensive, but I find the process oddly soothing and gratifying.  Not to mention that fresh juice is extremely hydrating and full of vitamins so there we go I'm gonna keep doing it.  High on the list of fun veggies to juice are beets.  Why?  Because they're pink.  And because they're full of B vitamins, folate, and lots of antioxidants.  But mostly the pink thing.
